A sailing holiday and yacht ownership begin with a similar aspiration: more freedom, more connection and more time at sea. Yet the expectations behind them are different. A charter guest wants to arrive and enjoy the experience. A prospective owner needs guidance through a complex series of decisions and a partner they can trust over time.
Croatia Yachting brings these journeys together. For many clients, a charter experience becomes the first step towards ownership, making the relationship between the two offers central to the business.
Through workshops with the team, we explored the company’s philosophy, audiences, competitive context and positioning. The strategic opportunity emerged around a balance already present in its work: hospitality and nautical expertise, emotional enjoyment and practical reassurance.
This became the foundation for a brand architecture built around Charter and Ownership, with a shared promise to make yachting feel clear, supported and deeply rewarding.
The brand personality combines warmth, connection and enjoyment with knowledge, clarity and guidance. In Charter, it behaves as an attentive host, allowing the pleasure of sailing to take centre stage. In Ownership, it becomes a trusted advisor, supporting informed decisions while preserving the excitement of owning a yacht.
We translated these roles into two complementary slogans. Where Horizons Smile expresses the ease, joy and presence of the Charter experience. Where Horizons Begin introduces Ownership as the beginning of a personal journey and a lasting relationship with the sea. Both share a warm, assured voice, adapted to the motivations of each audience.
The visual identity builds on the familiar sails of the original mark. Reoriented to form the letter C, they connect Croatia Yachting’s nautical heritage with its name in a distinctive standalone symbol. A new logotype family gives the main brand, Charter and Ownership a clear relationship and the flexibility to work across different formats.
Croatia Yachting red and Adriatic blue anchor the colour palette. Typography adds another layer of distinction: expressive serif forms bring an editorial quality and Mediterranean warmth to Charter, while a cleaner typographic expression supports the clarity and structure of Ownership.
The symbol also becomes a source for the wider graphic language. Custom textures derived from its curves, lines and colour transitions introduce movement and depth. Enlarged details and graphic overlays extend recognition across applications, giving the identity an expressive range beyond the logotype.
We brought these elements together in a comprehensive brand book, defining their use across advertising, editorial layouts, corporate materials, digital communication and vessel branding. Dedicated social media systems for Charter and Ownership establish a consistent approach to imagery, messages and detail, while allowing each offer its own atmosphere.
Implementation extended into website design, apparel, bags, flags and other branded materials. We also designed Horizons, a magazine introducing the thinking behind the rebrand through the perspectives of Croatia Yachting and Zambelli Brand Design. This editorial format gave the company space to explain its evolution and share the story behind its new identity.

The new brand was introduced at Biograd Boat Show, bringing strategy, language and design together in a coordinated public launch.
Croatia Yachting now has a broader system of communication tools, with distinct expressions for Charter and Ownership and a recognisable identity connecting them. From a magazine spread and a social media post to a bag, a flag or a website screen, the same strategic idea carries through.
The brand book gives the team a practical reference for future communication, while the full range of applications demonstrates how the identity works in everyday use. The result is a contemporary expression of the company’s experience and ambition, with room to grow as its services and relationships develop.
